Finally
Yes, finally. The kitchen is done, and those long promised pictures are here. I can hardly express how much work all of this was, 99% of it done by my partner in crime. He has scars that bear witness to that long and arduous process; a very big thank you is in order. We started with a space that screamed 1983 (and not in a good way), and ended up, after a total renovation, in the new millennium.
To say that it’s a pleasure to cook here is a great understatement. Cooking can be enjoyed in just about any space, big or small, and I still enjoyed preparing meals in the old kitchen. But there is something to be said for being able to do so in an area that invites lingering, and in which you can enjoy spending time that is NOT related to cooking. When I come home in the afternoon, I sit at the kitchen island with a cup of tea and read the papers online, and I just love how open and bright and inviting the room feels. I feel very fortunate indeed.
So, if you’re in the area, stop by for a glass of wine or a bite to eat. We’re open, and we don’t charge.
Check back in on Sunday for mussels fra diavolo – I dare you.
Just gorgeous! Mazel tov! Everything looks divine.

Thank you! We like it.
C’est bien! J’attends le moment que nous pourrions boire un verre par l’île:)
Cathy! You absolutely must come – it’s been much too long!
